Jeux D'eau

By

Maurice Ravel

Composed in 1901 and premiered by pianist Ricardo Viñes in 1902, Ravel's "Jeux d'eau" is a captivating piano piece that skillfully captures the imagery of a sparkling fountain. The music, with its delicate arpeggios and trills, resembles the play of water droplets, evoking the sensation of a sunlit garden fountain. This composition stands as a pivotal moment in Ravel's career, highlighting his early affinity for impressionism and setting the stage for his future innovations in piano music.
